Simplify.

I’ve been writing, writing, writing in the last few weeks, thanks to a studio moving-around… so now I’m all set up, and I’ve been hugely productive.  I hope to show you some music soon, but until I’ve finished recording and mixing, here is the first of a batch of new lyrics.  I hope you like them :)

Simplify

Pushing the weight off
Simplifying
Turning the lights off
Not afraid of the dark
Pushing the beat back
To the corner
Of my mind
Of my mind

Spending my days all
Terrified
Looking for ghosts where
Where I laid, I laid, I laid
Backing myself out
Of the corner
Of my mind
Of my mind

If I close off the past and the future
I don’t know when I’ll be
If I knew of a way how to reach you
I’d have never walked away

But in the dead of night I’ve only got myself to blame
In the dead of night I know my soul survived
To fight another day
If I lived a lie, I lied to keep myself alive
In the dead of night I think I see the light.

Pushing the weight off
Simplifying
Blasting the gate off
Not afraid of the dark
Pushing the beat back
To the corner
Of my mind
Of my mind

Anonymous asked: Your favourite book?

hmm, difficult one - one of the three I guess:

Dave Eggers - What is the what
Jonathan Swift - Gulliver’s Travels
Victor Hugo - Les Miserables

I’d have to go with those :-)

Ransom notes

Ransom Notes

There was a time
When the mountains kept their place
They stood in line
They waited at the gates
No-one could see
No terrain, no risen rocks
No feet could find
Neither hurdle or roadblock

The hills awoke
The cliffs got growing pains
The Earth it broke
The mountains had their way
They kissed the ground
And they watched it from above
Now I’m around
And I see no way to run

We float
On the breeze
We are held for a ransom
We’re boats
On the reeds
Waiting for the waves
